Une pièce d'un équilibre parfait, sans effets grandioses (plein d'effets propres à l'auteur toutefois), et qui touche à chaque écoute... Le compositeur était athée, mais sa musique peut se décliner dans toutes les religions. Quel dommage qu'on ne le joue presque jamais (comme celui de Schumann). POur ceux que cela intéresse, je conseille d'essayer le requiem de Von Suppé (oui, le compositeur d'opérettes): il est somptueux également: ruclips.net/video/6bwrXQdA2Ho/видео.html

I love this music especially the last part

Some here have asked why this work is not performed more frequently. I have been told by a music lover of some experience and authority that it is because it requires such large orchestration. It is, therefore, extremely costly to bring it to performance.

So moving. A most brilliant production! On my Air II ear buds.... I literally had to pull over and just look at the sunset. ..almost identical to the clouds at the beginning of this recording. Ominous....beautiful...haunting....and knowing the composers history on opening night... Heartbreaking. It is that transcending...

Bowman avait dit qu'il avait chanté dans de fois le SM de Vivladi qu'il le connaissait par coeur. Je l'ai vu en concert. Vraiment excellent. Je n'aime pas les nouveaux CT qui sont beaucoup trop dramatique. Bowman était simple et parfait.

Stabat Mater for solo alto and orchestra, RV 621, is a composition by the Italian baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi on one of the Sorrows of Mary. It was premiered in Brescia in 1712.
